Thermally Modified Wood in Houston

Thermally modified wood uses a heat-treatment process to change the properties of real wood. Compare Ayous, Ash, Scandinavian and Clear Radiata by species and approved application, then choose the profile and finish that fit the project.

Your project. Your branch.

Planning your Houston project

Houston projects range from shaded backyard decks to exposed commercial elevations. Summer heat, rainfall and the ventilation beneath the assembly all affect material selection. Share the framing plan and access constraints so the branch can help organize the material order.

Confirm availability before finalizing the specification. An order may combine locally available materials and special-order products; timing depends on the collection and quantities.

Material selection

From material to complete assembly.

01

Match the species to the surface

Walls, ceilings, soffits and decking do not share the same demands. Review each species page for profiles and discuss the intended use with the branch. Do not assume that every cladding profile is suitable for a walking surface or structural use.

02

Heat treatment is not acetylation

Maximo Accoya is acetylated wood, not thermally modified wood. It belongs to a separate modified-wood product family. Compare its product page separately rather than applying Accoya warranty statements to Ayous, Ash, Scandinavian or Clear Radiata.

03

Detail the finish and installation

Thermal modification does not eliminate the need for correct installation. Plan ventilation, fastening, moisture management and appropriate end treatment. Natural tones can change outdoors; discuss UV exposure and coating maintenance if retaining the initial color is important.

Make the quote useful

Send more than square footage.

A clear takeoff helps avoid ordering an incompatible profile or leaving accessories off the order. Share a drawing or sketch alongside these details.

  1. Project ZIP code and site address
  2. Application and indoor/outdoor exposure
  3. Dimensions, lengths and quantities
  4. Preferred collection, profile and finish
  5. Fasteners, corners, borders and trims
  6. Target date and delivery access

Project questions

Before you order.

Send the project ZIP code, application, dimensions, preferred material and target date. Include profiles, fastening, trim and finish so the quote covers the complete material order. The branch will confirm stock and lead time before you order.

No. The photos illustrate installed applications, not real-time branch inventory. Confirm the collection, color, dimensions and quantities with the local team. Some products may require a special order.

Contact Lumber Plus Houston before scheduling. Provide the site address, truck access and quantities to confirm options, costs and timing. The branch address is 10040 FM 1960 Rd W, Houston, TX 77070.

Review the selected collection's current instructions, the supporting assembly, compatible fasteners and applicable project requirements. Selecting a material does not replace the design or approval of the complete assembly.
