South Florida projects need a material plan that accounts for sun, humidity and, on waterfront sites, salt exposure. Bring the site ZIP code and the exposure of each surface: a covered ceiling and an open deck do not need the same specification.
Confirm availability before finalizing the specification. An order may combine locally available materials and special-order products; timing depends on the collection and quantities.
Material selection
Start with Trex, TimberTech and Fiberon collection pages to compare the available product families. Color choices, cap construction, board dimensions and warranty terms depend on the specific line. Some TimberTech products are advanced PVC rather than composite; keep that distinction in your quote.
Joist spacing, end gaps and fastening depend on the product and installation conditions. Angled layouts, stairs and picture-frame borders can need additional support. Follow the current manufacturer instructions and have an installer assess an existing frame before replacing its boards.
Composite still needs routine cleaning and clear drainage. All decking surfaces can become hot in direct sunlight. Compare samples at the site, consider shade and follow the selected collection's cleaning instructions. Ask about stain and fade coverage rather than assuming every line has the same warranty.
