Natural hardwood tones
Ipe often shows brown tones; Cumaru can bring a warmer reddish-brown character. Natural boards vary within the same order, and an unfinished sample is not a promise that every board will match it. Compare multiple pieces rather than choosing from a single small photograph. Use the species pages to review the available applications and profiles.
Modified wood is a separate choice
Thermally modified Ash, Ayous, Scandinavian and Clear Radiata offer their own grain and tone. Thermal modification is not a stain and is not the same process as Accoya acetylation. Select the species and profile for the surface: a wall or ceiling product should not be assumed to serve as decking.
A dark finish needs a maintenance decision
Sunlight and weather can change the appearance of exterior wood. An appropriate maintained coating and a naturally weathered surface produce different results. Test the intended finish on the selected wood and discuss future cleaning and recoating. If you prefer a manufactured wood-look finish, compare composite and PVC collections separately and use a physical sample under the site's lighting.
